These are flimsy rebuttals to flimsy arguments.

Atheism holds that everything came from nothing—a violation of the conservation of mass-energy.

Some of it does, and you make a good point.

Because most people of faith also accept observable scientific fact, and there isn't an inherent contradiction.

Anything that actually exists within reality has a place within nature. So any the concepts of events as "supernatural" are mislabeled, and not currently understood. Unseen forces like magnetism and gravity exist, and can only be measured in specific circumstances.

I've experienced things that cannot be explained away, which many would dismiss and explain away.

This place that we are living, is the place where spirit and matter cone together, and create "life."

Almost everything that is regarded as living, is the direct result of the action of another living entity; which brings the former into existence.

The possible exception is mold, as my understanding that living organic material can be hermetically sealed in a container, and then thoroughly irradiated to kill all bacteria (etc.), but this material will eventually begin to generate mold, or whatever.

They say that the spirit, or soul (or whatever label) can't be measured or identified, but some fundamental essence exist that distinguishes living material from everything else.

But if this essence was measurably identified, then that would prove the existence of spirit, which could upend centuries of "enlightenment" social conditioning to produce a world view of materialism.

I suspect life is a temporary period where the spiritual consciousness of one or more natural spiritual entities coealesse into a living entity, with different layers of "sub-" and then "un"-consciousness; and "un" is french for "one";
Un- as one-conscious and that there "the kingdom of heaven can be found within."

I suspect that ayahuasca and DMT (and similar), expand the conscious ability to perceive spiritual frequencies which always naturally exist (below the conscious surface, or other surfaces), but may similarly grant access to our consciousness to those spirit essences within; and some are less benevolent.

And a person who looks within themselves, and comes to terms with their own internal/personal "demons" will begin the process of one-[un]conscious "awakening."

Externally "organized" religions each include universal truths, but they also promise spiritual solutions that they can't deliver upon.

Its possible, that persons who look within and come to terms with their own internal contradiction have made peace with their personal "demons" undergo a different path of spirit posession.

Perhaps, they begin to posess within themselves something greater than the composite of spiritual essences, and various essences take on the character of one "self" conscious. A personal spirit essence that is distinct, and unique. One that isn't fragile to subconscious self-criticism, and might fall apart on it's own.

Perhaps, these unique spiritual essences have characteristics which allow them to persist; after the body has dissolved.

Most people who are certain about their beliefs have generated blind spots, as a result of their certainty.

But, these are my own musings, and personal theories at this point in my life. I'm uncertain about much of it.

Maybe I'm fooling myself.

Which is more foolish?

  • Fooling one's self; Examining at my own flaws, and accepting them, in an effort to do better by my own (possibly moving) personal standard?

  • Fooling one's self by external standards; examining external flaws and putting effort externally to do better?

  • Something something jesuits [a bit of levity]?

The most difficult portion of the heroes journey is confronting and overcoming one's own shadow.

Similarly, valuable treasures are safely hidden in the caves that people are too frightened to enter.

"Do I not destroy my [shadow] enemies, when I make them my friends?"

Jason is a well intentioned man, and I know his opinions are more sophisticated than those in the video film flam.

Also, I've been rambling on for a while, but I'm curious about your thoughts on this.

And the thoughts of others.

There has to be an intelligence behind the creation of the universe and a source of matter-energy that everything came from. We are in the Goldilocks zone from our Sun for life to form in evolution and the food to be diagestable and air to breathe just right for life. This was no accident; gravity had to be right, the temperature had to be right, the Moon had to be right, etc. It is like winning a cosmic lottery if there were no intelligence behind creation, which I believe had some help from a creator.
