I watched but don't know what stands out and is worth any attention.

I commented on the video:

I have a Moto G Play 2021. It has 32gb plus a 1tb SD card - but I'm all out of space with a mostly empty SD card because I can't have the apps on the card. Can Candy OS address this space problem and would it be compatible with my Moto G Play 2021?

Also, anyone know of a good FLOSS (F-Droid) Android app/way to archive text messages and/or other records that are taking up so much space? I'd still want to go through or search them occasionally. I don't know what else it could be other than texts (with photos movies attached - though not that much).

Your best bet is to look for developer options if there is an option to move apps to sdcard. Xdaforum is the first place to go when it comes to android hacking, the candyos is clearly not ready to be used and is not available for your device (unless they have GSI build). Also most android roms are quite simple, i dont know what groundbreaking features you were expecting but they usually have their own design and some extra customization. I would also not recommend custom roms unless you are tech savvy, it can easily end up in a bootloop unless you know what you're doing. Flashing custom firmware would obv wipe all the data.

the project is in development so there isn't much to it yet. Besides all modern operating systems look the same ans they copy same design philosophy. For eg. Apples liquid glass design was copied by android, transparent theming can be found in windows too.
